Mark joined Brock and Associates in January 2010 as the Director of Financial Planning / Training / Compliance.

Mark began his education at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and majored in accounting. He completed his bachelor's degree at the University of Phoenix, Las Vegas, and obtained his Master's Degree in Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning in Boulder, CO. Mark is a Certified Financial Planner®, Certified Senior Advisor®, Certified Special Needs Planner, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®, and has attended thousands of hours of continuing education in various aspects of financial services.

From 1983 to 1993 Mark worked for Plan America, a financial planning firm operated by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) where he helped thousands of credit union members plan and achieve their financial goals. Mark was named "Planner of the Year" in 1983 and again in 1993 (the only planner in that organization to receive the distinction twice). In 1993, Mark opened his own Registered Investment Advisory firm (Clark County Financial Services, LLC) and worked with individuals, small businesses, state and federal government employees, and government contractors.

In 2002, Mark accepted a position with MassMutual Insurance Group as the Director of Financial Planning and back-up compliance officer for the local Mass Mutual Insurance agency. In 2004, Mark took a position with Citigroup, North America, and in 2007 took a sabbatical to complete his Master's Degree in Financial Planning.

Since 1983, Mark has conducted several hundred workshops and seminars on financial planning issues. Mark has also conducted numerous training sessions for other financial professionals on a wide variety of financial planning topics. Mark authored several articles in the Las Vegas Review Journal on financial planning topics. Mark served on the board of directors for the Las Vegas Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and in 1992 was its President. Mark also served of the board of directors for the Las Vegas chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Mark currently is the ProBono Chairman for the Utah Chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).

Mark is the oldest of five boys in his family. Coming from a large family, he created one of his own. Mark is married to Evelyn Halstead, a licensed clinical social worker with a Master's Degree in Social Work. Between them they have eight children, twenty-three grand-children, and one great grand-child (and two of their children aren't producing yet).
