Scott Slater, ChFC
Associate Planner
Scott has an enthusiastic interest in helping people achieve their goals. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from California State University, Los Angeles in 1987. He used that education along with his skills working with glass to own and operate a successful glass company working with clients such as Paramount studios, Universal studios, Macy’s, and colleges such as Cal Tech and Cal Poly Pomona. He sold his glass company in 2004 and moved to St. George the following year. He is using this successful business experience to add to his practice in fee-based financial consulting.
Scott has completed his Certified Retirement Financial Advisor (CRFA) designation as well as the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation.
Scott also has extensive first-hand experience as an investor in real estate, both commercial and residential. He has had experience in 1031 exchanges, eminent domain issues, rentals, and subdivision development. He understands fully the difficulties that come along with investing in real estate and the type of attention required by this type of investment.
He enjoys finding solutions to problems and that drives him to continually develop his knowledge and skills in financial and tax related issues. Very personable, he looks forward to making a difference in people’s lives here in southern Utah.
Scott has been married to his beautiful wife, Valeria, for 9 years, and they are the parents of two daughters, Marie and Grace.
Scott also has three older daughters. Michele is serving her 4th year in the Air Force; Sarah is a senior at Azusa Pacific University majoring in elementary education; Natalie is a senior at Cal Poly Pomona majoring in animal husbandry.
